The laboratory El Prat is a process of artistic intervention in the classroom developed in collaboration with the mediation teams of Teatre L'Artesà and La Capsa, within the program Camins Vius of Teatre L'Artesà

The approach made to us by the Theater team was to develop a project of intervention, research and creation during 3 school years, having as general objectives to reach a large number of students and to generate synergies with teachers of public high schools in the city. The idea was to apply our way of working and explore new approaches within the extensive network of mediation of the theater with the educational fabric of Prat, while seeking to explore new ways of relating to younger audiences from the Capsa.

With these premises we have been fortunate to be able to think, create and explore new approaches to use remixing as a tool for learning, knowledge of the environment and sound creation located... And to do it collaborating and learning with the wonderful team of the Theater and La Capsa... thanks to all of them 🧡

Workshops developed

The first year we were working with 270 students of 1stESO of 5 IES to create a sound device for remixing and mapping of musical listening in the transition from primary to secondary school.

After this sound mapping of Prat, during the second year we focused on a longer process of work with fewer students (1st and 3rd ESO of Ribera-Baixa, and 2nd ESO of IES Dalí) that allowed them to enter into musical composition, working on the idea of shared listening, at home, in the neighborhood and in the city.

The third year has been articulated around language and identity. Using a sound archive of oral expressions, compiled by the 4th ESO students of the Institut Salvador Dalí and the 3rd ESO students of the Institut Escola Pepa Colomer, we have created musical pieces based solely on words.

If there is one word to characterize the last year of the anthropoloops laboratory in El Prat it is 'synergy'. The power and scope that an art and school project can acquire when artists, mediators and teachers work collectively and in tune. It's a pleasure to have been part of this...
