The ensemble is made up of the nggör, the suspended drum, and two cing. The Mnong Gar, the Ma and the Sre (Coho) possess sets of six gongs of different sizes. For the Mnong Gar, the biggest gong – cing mei, “mother” – marks the beat: it is 40 cm in diameter. The smallest gong measures only about 17cm: this fifth gong is the most difficult to use and plays the melody.

As the father's soul was travelling towards the island of Tuma, where the dead meet and reside, he came across some beautifull women and handsome men with whom he settled in Tuma.

Music: Gaita was performed by both Indian and Creole villagers. There were three instrumentalists: a flautists, a maraca player and a drummer player. The performers were joined by one or more singers, singing in a form of forced falsetto, and accompanied by shouts from members of the audience. La gaita es una música mas rítmica y alegre el conjunto lo integran tres músicos uno toca el carrizo hembra, otro el tambor y otro las maracas que en mucha ocasiones hace de cantante.
